Dr. Rose Barr

Dr. Rose Barr was born and raised in Oklahoma City, but she moved to Denver when she was 18-years-old. After earning a B.S in Chemistry she attended Colorado State University for her veterinary degree. She completed a one-year internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and in 2010 Tender Touch had the good fortune to woo her.

Dr. Barr has shared her home with many dogs and cats over the years. Some of the current favorites are Silly (who is actually quite grouchy), Big Red (the party animal), Wun (the bottle baby) and Frieda and Hanai (both girls had been hit by a car at some point giving them interesting x-rays and gaits). She and her husband also spend a lot of time fostering and socializing feral kittens to get them ready for adoption.

Exotic travel interests Dr. Barr, and the craziest thing she has ever done is fly in a microlight aircraft (often called a lawnmower with wings) over Victoria Falls in Zambia. Her favorite destination so far has been Easter Island. When not being a veterinarian she loves to hike, and had a great time backpacking in Patagonia in 2018. She likes the saying “We’ll just have to figure it out,” and she likes the word “pickles,” but she is not as fond of the word “poise,” because of the way it sounds.

When making personal decisions (but not medical ones!) Dr. Barr uses a magic 8 ball. If she doesn’t like the answer it gives then she knows in her heart what the right answer should be.
