Dr. Charlotte Thiessen

Dr. Thiessen is a born and raised Iowan from Des Moines. She attended Saint Olaf College in Minnesota where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology. She then moved close to home for veterinary school at Iowa State University for her DVM degree. For further training, she moved to the Denver area to complete an intensive internship in small animal medicine/surgery at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital before joining the Tender Touch family in 2014. She enjoys internal medicine cases and helping owners manage chronic illnesses.

She is owned by her dog Emilio, a lovable mixed breed who loves the snow, and her tripawd brown tabby cat, Champion. One of her favorite sayings is “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”. Her favorite word is “ultimately” and her least favorite phrase is “it is what it is” – it doesn’t mean anything! Her heroes are her parents.

In her spare time, she loves to travel, cheer on her teams (Iowa Hawkeyes and the Colorado Rockies), practice the piano, and hiking/camping with her with her husband, Zeke.
