Michelle, Veterinary Technician
Also known as Mitchell, Chelle, Mitch, and Missy, Michelle is a Denver native. Michelle earned an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from the Bel Rea Institute in 2000 and has been working as a technician ever since.
Her hero is her mother with whom she shares a weekly margarita at the Rio. She is owned by her feline family that consists of Hudson, Clover, Leo, also known as Meatball and her newest canine member of the family is Sawyer. The saying that exemplifies her life is “you are always braver than you believe, stronger than you seem”. When asked the craziest thing she has ever done, she replied that it hasn’t happened yet but it will be skydiving-tandem of course.
What she loves most about her job is caring for the animals.
Erica, Certified Veterinary Technician
Erica, known to her friends as “E”, was born in Long Island, NY and grew up in New Orleans, LA. Her mom, who is a two-time lung cancer survivor, is her hero. She obtained her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from Bel Rea in 2011.
Bruce Wayne and Tiny Cat are her two kitties’ names. Erica believes that “Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves for we shall never cease to be amused.” Her favorite word is iridescent, and her least favorite word is thesis. When asked about what she likes about her job she says that she likes being a part of the healing process for pets who come in very ill and eventually get sent home happy and healthy. She also likes to snowboard and to watch the New Orleans Saints win!
Courtney, known as Mamba, is a Certified Veterinary Technician who hails from Littleton, Colorado. When growing up Courtney lived with her grandparents in South Dakota during the summers and she showed Quarter Horses. She graduated from Chatfield High School, attended Mesa State College, and then obtained her CVT degree from Bel Rea.
Her grandma is her hero because she taught her about horses and life. The craziest thing she ever did was (accidentally) swim with barracudas.
Stevie is her English Bulldog, and Wanda is her kitty. Courtney’s hair color is ever-changing. It has been black and hot pink, purple, fire engine red, and orange. Her favorite was the red. Courtney likes being able to comfort pets and to help pet owners understand what’s happening with their furry kids.
Fabianna is a veterinary technician who completed her internship at Tender Touch and we just couldn’t let her go. Born and raised in New Jersey, Fabianna moved to Denver to follow her dream of working with animals. Before earning her associates degree in veterinary technology Fabianna achieved a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin. We call her Fabulous or, sometimes, just Fab.
Her household includes three rescue dogs (a Shiba Inu mix, Hound mix and an Australian Shepherd). She loves this line of work because she feels like she is doing something that really matters.
Nick is a Denver native, a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, and a graduate of Bel Rea, with his AS degree. Nick came to Tender Touch as a Bel Rea intern, and we liked him so much, we decided to keep him.
Nick says the quality of patient care is what drew him to Tender Touch in the first place, and he’s doing his part to continue that tradition. Nick was a bike messenger for the 11 years prior to pursuing his vet tech schooling, and he’s known around the hospital for his abiding love for the Denver Broncos! He also enjoys motorcycle track racing, Will Ferrell movies, and skiing.
Nick’s furry family includes three English Pointers, Zoe, Missy, and Brain, and 2 feline companions a 20-year-old cat named Frisky and Gorba the most amazing Persian ever.
Gwen, Veterinary Technician
Gwen was born in Marietta, GA and grew up in Morton, Illinois and her folks are her heroes! She graduated from University of Illinois with a Degree in Psychology and her aviation certifications.
Gwen is owned by Piper (a Rottie mix) who she calls her best buddy and currently fostering Tolee (DLH). The saying that exemplifies her life is “Patience is a Virtue!” Her favorite word is “handstands” and her least favorite word is any word in a whiney voice.
What she likes most about her job is her crazy co-workers and she also enjoys yoga, bike riding, capoeira, music and friends!
Jackie has a couple of nicknames that she goes by and they are Cracky Jackie and Yackie! She was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Brooklyn and New Jersey. Her hero is her dad who is retired from the FDNY. She graduated from Bel Rea Institute in 2009 and started working in the veterinarian field.
She is owned by Sammy, her 8-year-old Rotty Mix and Mocha, a 3-year-old Mastif mix along with Gato, a 2-year-old cat. She is also fostering Izzy, a 6-year-old cat. The saying that exemplifies her life is “Work hard play hard.” Her favorite word is flatulence and her least favorite word is NO!
What she likes most about her job is everyone is a team player and it’s amazing at what everyone does – we are family and have fun along with working hard. The craziest thing she has ever done was to swim with sharks and skydive over Giants Stadium. She is married to her handsome man Jorge and she loves riding motorcycles, traveling, music and her family.
Sallie, her nickmane is Ol’ Man Sal. She was born and has grown up in Denver, CO! Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter is her hero. She went to Littleton High School and then Bel-Rea Veterinary Technician Training for her Veterinary Technician degree.
She is owned by her 2 pets Archie a 5yr old Shar Pai and Butters, her cat. The saying that exemplifies her life is “Live life to the fullest.” What she loves most about her job is working with the animals and helping them get better when they are sick. Also, good client care along with seeing cute puppies.
She loves her family and her animals, spending time outdoors and learning new things!
Alysson’s nickname is Aly. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up in Littleton, CO. She has two heroes which are her mom and dad. She went to Heritage High School and Metropolitan State University where she majored in English, originally planned to teach before deciding to work with animals. She then worked in the equestrian field for two years prior to TTAH.
She is owned by Lilly, an 11-year-old St. Bernard, Rose Tyler an 8-year-old cattle dog, Doodle a 4–year-old Labradoodle, along with Corduroy and Clara Oswald her two cats. The saying that exemplifies her life is “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” Her favorite word is wizard and her least favorite is moist.
The craziest thing she has ever done was to follow her favorite band Pearl Jam on a tour in the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys riding, gardening, refinishing antique furniture and outdoor time in the mountains with her partner Alex and their two children.
What she enjoys most about her job are the clients and staff at TTAH. Everyone is so compassionate with patients, clients and fellow staff members.
Rachel was born in Beaconsfield, England. She was raised in the UK and holds a bachelors in Social Care. She is owned by Foxey, a 13 year old boxer mix and Teddy an 18 month old terrier mix, along with two cats, Mama and Turk.
The saying that exemplifies her life is “adventure”.
What she likes most about her job is the amazing team, our clients and especially the pets.
There are too many too many things to mention regarding the craziest thing she has ever done. She has volunteered over 20 years with rescue groups and shelters. She loves to travel, go hiking, quad riding and photography.
Melanie, Client Service Representative
Melanie was born in California and has been in Denver for the last 15 years. She has a bachelors degree from MSU.
She is owned by her dog Rossy, who is 4yr old American Bulldog mix. The saying that exemplifies her life is “Rossy is sick again and it’s going to be expensive”.
What she loves most about her job is being around animals all day!
Carlene, Practice Manager
Carlene is a Colorado native who has spent her time growing up (if she ever will) in Arvada and North Denver. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology at Bel Rea Institute in 1997. Within the last year she has changed from being a certified technician to working on her certification in practice management.
Her mom is her hero and tries to talk to her daily. She is owned by 3 dogs, Bella (Weimaraner), Sadie (German Shorthair) and Libby (Boston Terrier) who was rescued when she was 3 weeks old. Her favorite word is love and her least is veggies (she tries to stay away from them). What she loves most about her job is learning all the new skills and having such a wonderful team to work with. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family along with just relaxing at home.
Jaime-Lynn is a 3-year-old Tortie domestic long hair who was abandoned in a trailer park. Thankfully the twists and turns that followed led her here to Tender Touch. Cat lovers that we are, we know and appreciate the unique Tortie “catitude” that Jaime-Lynn has and decided to make her a permanent part of our staff. She is the perfect addition to our family!
