Athena Rink, Technician Assistant

Athena was born and raised in Palo Alto, California. She majored in musicat Metro State College in Denver, and then she attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York (voice performance). She is also a Reiki Master (a form of hands on healing). We are not sure how she went from there to being a veterinary technician assistant, but we are lucky that she chose this path. She claims no nicknames (just wait…), her favorite word is esoteric, and her least favorite word is hate. She identifies with the saying “Be in the world, but not of it.” It is the people she works with, helping animals, meeting different pets and baby kittens that make her look forward to work. Athena has two dogs (Jasmine and Journey), three cats (Buttons, Napoleon, and Raven), two birds and a ball python.

She almost couldn’t tell us the craziest thing she has ever done because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but this was Reno so we got the whole story. When she was 17 years old she and a friend went to Reno, met a security guard who thought she was cute, and spent the next three days gambling and partying. Legal? No. Fun. You bet.
